FAQ'S

What is The She Cares Foundation?
The She Cares Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that seeks to address several alarming statistics that have impacted children from single parent homes. The strength of the nation derives from the integrity of the home.  And it is the Founders view that our society can be no more stable than the foundation that a Single Independent Mothers lays.  Our government, our institutions, our schools, our way of life is dependent on a healthy home and loyalty to the vulnerable little child who sits around their mother’s feet.  That old cliché’ “Our men are what their mothers made them” goes without saying.

When did we begin?
She Cares was incorporated in 2008 and was founded by Yolanda Anderson. The foundation was inspired by the late Donda West (Mrs. Anderson’s Aunt), mother of superstar Kanye West.  Donda West was the essence of our mission, a single independent mother facing challenges of raising a son while still maintaining enough stability to allow him to follow his dreams while making hers secondary. The foundations were established to aide, assists and empower Independent Single Mothers.

She Cares Foundation represents independent nonprofit organizations across America that increases the employment potential of low-income women. She Cares member groups operate with their own name and 501 (c) 3 status and provide a multi-tiered level of support services to women in their communities, from providing professional attire to career skills training, to and health and wellness programs. She Cares Foundation features thought-provoking workshops, series of community forums addressing a variety of diverse topics (legal resources, financial literacy, mental health support, health & nutrition & educational advocacy).

Why is the work of She Cares Foundation so important? What purpose does it serve?

$39 billion dollars is owed in back child support to 29 million children of single parent women.

78% of all single parent women are employed, Forty-five percent of all single parent women hold down more than one job.

Sleep, self-time, and chores are among the top things working mothers forgo to spend time with their children.

In 49 states the average annual cost of childcare exceeds the annual cost of public college tuition.

Fewer than 17% of all single moms receive government assistance even in the minor form of food stamps.

The foundations of civilization are no stronger and no more enduring than the corporate integrity of the homes on which they rest.  If the home deteriorates, civilization will crumble and fall.  Unless our love and care for our single mothers is a high priority, we may find that we may gain the whole world and lose our own children.  That is why She Cares Foundation’s mission is to support these single moms in their dreams, visions and hopes.
It is the support that will promote and improve physical, spiritual, mental and emotional well-being of independent mothers, which in turn will be positioned in their child.
